Why did you start snowboarding?
Skied for about 5 years on Mt Taranaki, changed to snowboarding after seeing a few local surf rippers getting into it. It seemed cooler. I gathered up all my money and bought a 129cm Burton Air at age ten before I had ever tried it. Everyone thought I was crazy. Never went back till last year. Had a jam on some twinies which is pretty fun.

What was you worst injury?
Last year in Whistler I cracked 2 ribs with my Ipod being crunched between by chest and leg. I was riding with some girl who I was trying to impress at the time so shook it off as nothing only to crack them a lot worse 2 days later. Hurts to breathe and laugh for a few weeks. Takes ages to be normal again. That girl ended up following me back to NZ so the cripple effect must have worked a charm.

Who's up and coming in NZ?
All the Maori boys are ripping the hardest. Robett Hollis, Jake Koia and Leroy Christiensen. Good to see those boys making it for themselves.

Favourite thing on a board?
Just shredding with anyone who is super stoked on the sport. Anthrasteez, Holla, Tim Bathurst my CHCH homeboy, my girl Lisa, all the foreigners who are stoked on NZ. Riders keeping it real having heaps of fun.
